A counter to the "tax and spend" mantra
Edited on Fri Apr-11-08 07:14 AM by LuckyTheDog
It's not about "wanting to pay more taxes." In fact, the Democrats want LOWER taxes on the middle class.

It's about spending and budget priorities and paying for (as opposed to borrowing money for) the government we want and need.

"Borrow and spend" is easy. But it is far more destructive to the long-term health of the nation than the pain that can come with fiscal responsibility.

When tax rates are higher, the rich still get richer. The economy still grows -- perhaps at a slower rate if rates get TOO high. But when the financial system collapses, we ALL lose. When the dollar falls through the floor, we all lose. When inflation rages, we all lose. Those are the things that make wealth evaporate

We need to manage this country better. The Democrats have a plan do to that.

1. Do you much prefer "loot & waste". . . ?
That's my tacit response.

Furthermore, tax & spend is essentially and simply what most governments do.

This regime has pissed away our entire treasury with no accountability whatsoever.
