Spy photos reveal 'secret launch site' for Iran's long-range missiles

The secret site where Iran is suspected of developing long-range ballistic missiles capable of reaching targets in Europe has been uncovered by new satellite photographs.

The imagery has pinpointed the facility from where the Iranians launched their Kavoshgar 1 “research rocket” on February 4, claiming that it was in connection with their space programme.

Analysis of the photographs taken by the Digital Globe QuickBird satellite four days after the launch has revealed a number of intriguing features that indicate to experts that it is the same site where Iran is focusing its efforts on developing a ballistic missile with a range of about 6,000km (4,000 miles).

A previously unknown missile location, the site, about 230km southeast of Tehran, and the link with Iran's long-range programme, was revealed by Jane's Intelligence Review after a study of the imagery by a former Iraq weapons inspector. A close examination of the photographs has indicated that the Iranians are following the same path as North Korea, pursuing a space programme that enables Tehran to acquire expertise in long-range missile technology.

1. Yeppers, when they start releasing spy satellite photos of
'secret' places (or holding up vials of poison for that matter) then you know things are a go.

6. Iraq has learned from our "mistake."
Do you remember that biological decontamination unit, because of the hoses on the outside of the vehicle, that turned out to be a fire truck. Iraq's new fire trucks have no external hoses. I shit you not.

Can't they use google earth to get closer pictures? NSA's satlites can't tell the difference between a Mobile Biological Decontamination Unit and a fire truck. Google can pick up a cat sitting in a window.

3. We should go back to 2002 and look at the Photos Powell took to The UN
Edited on Fri Apr-11-08 01:14 PM by TheWatcher
It would not surprise me in the least if this is one of those older photos of IRAQ, recycled for the justification of going into IRAN. And even if it isn't, what does it prove? The same thing those other photos proved. We are liars. AGAIN.

Jesus Christ, they aren't even TRYING to be clever or deceptive anymore. They know they can do whatever they want, so they are just rehashing and recycling old plots and old tactics as new. They know the public is either too dumbed down, apathetic, or simply will sit in stony silence to lift a finger to stop them, and Congress surely will do nothing to stop them.

We are living in a criminal regime.

IMPEACH. INDICT. INCARCERATE.

This foolishness has got to stop.

I'm tired of living in a Rogue Nation. A Banana Republic.

4. Is there any reason they should not have missiles?
Who are we to tell them what they can and can not have when it comes to defending their country? If you look at history America is much more likely to attack a foreign nation than is Iran. When was the last time Iran attacked another country that didn't attack it first? When was the last time the USA did?

7. Bush is too much of a coward to attack an armed nation.
Just imagine how bad Iraq would be if they actually had weapons to defend themselves with.
