8. It's so nice that we care about each other that much

I, too, get "nervous" when I don't hear from a "regular" in a while. There's most likely no reason to worry, but drop us a line every once in a while just to let us know that you haven't been renditioned, LOL!

There are not so many brilliant thinkers that are equally as good at putting 'pen to paper'. The blogosphere of DU is graced with a higher than average percentage of them.

13. In her post yesterday, she said she watched "American Idol" -- one of the most refreshing...

statements I've seen on this board in a good while. What the hell, people -- it's a talent show! There are far, far worse things in this world than a big-ass talent show. It came straight from the Brits, modeled on their show "Pop Idol."

Even the great Plaid Adder admitted with reluctance that she watched. Hold your head high, Plaid! I don't think that watching "Idol" should occasion an apology -- nor do I think those who don't watch deserve the medals of superiority they attach to themselves.

As of this morning, "Idol Gives Back" had raised $60 million. Will it help at all? I hope so. At least they're making an effort.
