Bill Moyers on Poverty, Food Banks & Rich Farmers on Government Dole
on now---excellent. 25 Millon people in US going to food banks, our cotton with US taxpayer-subsidized dollars compete with Africa; farm subsidies for McMansions in TEXAS since '02, food banks don't have enough food in USm farmers getting subsidies when they don't have a disaster, making over $2 Million/year.

1. rural aid designed to aid the farm lobby, not the family farmer struggling on the land

3. Hunger in America and we've lost hop0e but very doable---we could quickly cut hunger in 1/2
Gov. spending on commodity payments to wealthy people---doing damage...

10. Solcitations for help for the hungry -- both $ collections and good collection have
increased a great deal, but not enough evidently to cover the INCREASE in the hungry/impoverished ---

12. in the shadow of NYC suburban superabundance, the food pantry goes bare
Two choices: 1) they're super wealthy assholes who won't help their fellow men and women with a bag of groceries every week; or 2) is not well with the super wealthy---that explains BushCo bailing them out with Chinese $$$.

Farm subsidies to wealthy people who have
never farmed their land. But no money to struggling farmers who really need help...

I love Bill Moyers, and this was an exceptionally good report.

8. Been watching it ----
Didn't see the whole thing --- tuned in late ---

It raised more questions than they attempted to answer ---
Granted Democrats aren't either ending the scandalous subsidies . . .
and they also seem to be way behind in increasing aid for the hungry ---
Didn't they used to send "surplus" food to the foodbanks?

And, at the end, I think the Rev. said 35 million in need ???

Who was the Rev., btw . . . ??

Hope some Fundies were watching cause he delivered an interesting political msg to them, IMO.
