2. Thanks, Kevinmc.... Damn, I don't know why they do this to SAM
He has a large fan base.... I suspect it is because they know they can't absolutely control him in terms of being candid about his views with his audience.

I fear the Greens think he is not "big enough" for them, given their real fixation on celebrity.

I wonder who the ass at AAR was that leaked the story to HuffPost. Come on folks, email pcollins@airamerica.com and ask for SAM.

3. You know they never promote his shows ....
they pretend he doesn't exist and he is lucky he gets the fan base he does. I think he is good radio .. 8-)

Maybe this time they will wise up.

5. No, they hope he will go away, I think....
So that they don't have to deal with his fan base bitching... It is like calling, writing, pleading--trying to influence one's congresscritter. They just don't care... But, I will make the attempt, nonetheless.

I wish XM would develop their own content for a second liberal station, but even they are stupid enough to demote Thom Hartman to a shortened taped delay over Ed Schultz and aren't even giving us all of Rachel Maddow. AAR on XM-weekends has become a vast wasteland of bland special interest or informercial type shows, intermixed with the rare jewels of SAM and Ring of Fire. Unfortunately, I often forget to listen because of the other crap. I'd far rather have the "best of" from the weeks shows that they used to repeat.

6. Another thought ...
since AAR is tanking ...

Would it not be better to email John Manzo jmanzo@novamradio.com and request that he bring Sam over to Nova M?

9. I would much more like Seder then Lionel any day! Sorry to Lionel fans but he is way over the top!
Lionel is no more of a Democrat then Lieberman in my book! He is ridiculous 99% of the time.

21. Best chance right now is AAR
Sam has said that Nova M is not in a position financially to make him an offer. If you want to hear Sam 5 days, unfortunately, it's AAR that efforts have to be directed at.

28. That may be the ultimate benefit of AAR's snubbing of Randi Rhodes.
AAR has just chased away their probably most profitable host, so NovaM's finances are sure to be looking up when they start collecting the syndication fees for her show.

NovaM:
Malloy
Rhodes

AAR:
Hartmann
Maddow
(Lionel - not progressive)
(Flanders, Ring of Fire, Seder - weekend show only)

15. There's a petition that you can sign, here:
Edited on Sat Apr-12-08 05:04 PM by PBass
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/petition/905955988

I don't know if that will help at all (lots of people petitioned to keep Malloy and that didn't work). Still, you have to try!!!

Sam is the best, FTW!!!

Just kidding, but I do think Sam Seder is excellent... better than Lionel by a country mile. I like Sam better than anybody on Air America. But I've got a feeling Air America will veer back towards the politically bland Jerry Springer/Lionel types, in a misguided attempt to appeal to the "center". I don't think moving to the center will work, and if Air America loses their base, they will end up with nothing.

I'll email John Manzo, too.

19. This WIll Show If AAR Is To Survive
Sam's been long overdue for his own show. He's been a solid foot soldier for the network...even after getting screwed around. If anything, he's a known commodity among many of the "core" audience. AAR needs to find a bona fide quality replacement for Randi for any chance of surviving, and Seder may be their only hope. If they pass on him, this just says they'll soon be throwing in the towel.

24. Sam "is under consideration"
This is from the NY Times and was posted by Bill Scher on his Liberal Oasis blog:

"A Sunday host, Sam Seder, who previously led a morning show for the radio network, is under consideration, according to an Air America employee who asked not to be identified."

25. They didn't tell Sam that Belzer would host next week? That's awful.
He got the word from someone else according to the link.

Belzer? Why him? Nothing wrong, but why not Sam?

31. Apparently Sam got the word during his Thursday show ...
... and was caught on SammyCamera during a commercial break railing on someone.

From SamSederShow.com...
AN hour into thursdays show I got an IM from a sammycammer saying that huffpo was announcing that Belzer was guest hosting 3-6 next week. I like Belzer- have had him as a guest and he was supportive when the Green regime cancelled my daily show. That said, I didn't appreciate being left in the dark and I knew who had leaked the news and why. Without going into too much detail- folks on the sammycam caught a glimpse of it-- I left the studio and expressed my sentiments to that individual in a fashion that, well, let's just say, had it been presented on YouTube I might have been eligible for suspension.

27. Richard Greene of Clout! discussed this with a caller the other night
He told the caller that, while Sam has a good level of appeal to those of us on the left, he thought that Mark Green, president of AAR, felt that the inclusion of "known celebrities" like Richard Belzer might enable them to broaden their appeal. I don't know if he was just trying to be diplomatic or not. I am afraid that, if they really wanted Sam to take over, they would have already offered him the job.

30. Don't kill my buzz. : )
Yes, AAR mgmt (i.e. the Greens) have demonstrated remarkably poor judgment, so the likelihood of success with the petition may be minimal, but it needs to be tried.

32. PETITION requesting week-daily show for Sam Seder here ....
Petition at BraveNewFilms.org - Give Sam Seder a Daily Show (3706 signers as of 1:30pm Tues, 4/15)

p.s. If you're a Premium/OnDemand subscriber to AAR, and are so inclined, the point might be made more clearly when attached to a financial figure. e.g.
"Awaiting refund of $58.36 for account cancellation."
