Anti-Don Siegelman site operates in Mountain Time Zone, why is that?

Even though the trial of Don Siegelman was unfair and he himself has been released on appeal, there has been one site that supports his conviction, but doesn't mention the crime spree that has victimized the defenders of the former Governor.

Perhaps some of you have heard about it.

Another thing about this site is that it is completely anonymous, nobody knows who operates it.

However I think I may have found a clue.

One thing can be determined, it's not operated in the Alabama area, one might think that, but it's not.

If you have telnet or something, and go to port 21 of the site, you might see something like this:

It doesn't matter where the actual machine is. Maybe that's where the cheapest hosting deal is.

I know a guy here in Canada who's a website administrator for a Denver company.

He's never been there.

8. Not strange at all, except

The IP address is for a godaddy.com server in Scottsdale, AZ. Since godaddy is also the registrar, it's likely that the domain name registration and the hosting plan were signed up for at the same time. It's quite common to host a site on a server in a location physically far from you.

However, it's interesting that the domain name was registered on July 27, 2007, just two weeks after the 44 former state attorneys general submitted a petition to the House and Senate Judiciary Committees calling for an investigation.
