I took this picture of a painting that was hanging in a store window in DC where I'm visiting for a few days. I walked by it at first, then back-pedaled in order to snap a pic.

That symbolism has go to mean something.

Roosevelt is the only one not facing the table.

Pappy, Nixon and Ford are in profile, with Ford looking lower than everyone else.

The ones facing the viewer head on are:
Reagan, Eisenhower, and War Criminal.

But, it is Reagan who the painting is about. Everyone's focus is on him, except Roosevelt.

That has got to mean something.

And the fact that there are oil derricks in the background and a ladder with no one on it--not even a worker. Now, that's symbolism. (No one on the ladder to success?)

Which is a good point that there are no non politicians in the image.

But there are golf clubs and cowboy hats.

I'm looking, but I can't find any underage males anywhere. Are they under the table?

I wish I could paint, though, because there's only one rebuttal to THIS piece of shit:

Lincoln kicking the shit out of Reagan
Gerald Ford knocking Poppy Bush's teeth down his throat
and Teddy Roosevelt beheading the village idiot with his cavalryman's sword

while Eisenhower stands watch to ensure the task is done correctly, and Nixon urges restraint because, thanks to the efforts of Reagan, Bush and Bush, even the staunchest liberals walk around thinking, "y'know, Nixon wasn't that bad of a guy after all!"

Now as for this painting...I figured it out. Lincoln told the three men to your left that they reminded him of famous military leaders from his era. Reagan and the Bushes are overjoyed because they're thinking "General Grant!" Everyone else is laughing because they know he REALLY means Braxton Bragg (who was such an asshole his troops attempted to frag him by setting off an artillery shell under his bed), George Custer, and George Pickett (who led the most disastrous military assault in the history of the Confederacy, Pickett's Charge.)
