3. A hunk of raw meat that looks like a limb.
How'd you block it? It's not a Google ad.

9. As mentioned above. . . Firefox + Adblock. . . I for the life of me have no idea
Edited on Sat Apr-12-08 11:42 PM by PetraPooh
what you all are talking about. . . sounds like that's good for me.

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/ for Firefox

then

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q=adblock&cat=all

for adblock

Oh, NoScript also helps but you have to know when to allow and when not too as it automatically doesn't allow. So if you go to a site and the clicks don't work, be sure to allow that site, youtube videos have to be indepedently allowed and such.

here for that https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q=noscript&cat=all

29. Firefox.
It "retains" too much of my personal info - and I don't want to have to plow through several hundred "settings" to get it to do what I want.

15. Please. It's just a picture of meat.
It that seriously more offensive than a picture of a live animal being abused?

18. Looks like a tenderloin of some kind.
However, we posters are requested to warn folks about possibly extreme pictures before they open the post. People then decide whether or not to view such things. To have pig abuse and raw meat that looks like a skinned bull pizzle just a-popping up unbidden is a little much. Many of us liberal types are perfectly aware of where meat comes from and how inhumane much of the system is. If I want to be re-educated I will click the link, or better yet, talk to my local co-op people or google the subject myself. However, in this context, I am reminded of anti-abortionists waving bloody fetus photos in people's faces. Mods, please get this crappy propaganda ad outta here, if at all possible. It's just gonna piss people off at legitimate peace-loving vegetarians and make it harder for them to gently educate those who will listen.

20. That picture kept me awake all night.
Any graphic image of a person or an animal being physically abused just makes me pace around the house at night. I feel like it's branded into my brain.

The biggest problem with a picture like that is that there's nothing you can do to alleviate the poor animal's suffering. That pig is long gone. It should have come with a warning.

26. I don't get it - the picture of meat just looks like a normal tenderloin or whatever
I see 100x that much in the butcher case every day. Why is that more disturbing than the pig being beaten?

28. It looks like food to me
not food I would eat, but still... food. That other picture looked like unecessary cruelty in the factory farming industry. Or possibly it was a perfectly normal "animal husbandry" procedure that is disturbing to those of us with no farming experience?
