Would an atheist candidate be invited to the "Compassion forum"? |
|
I'm not really all that upset that CNN is showing this, but I'm not so sure it's good for the health of our Democracy.
Whatever happened to "no religious test"?

3. There are a lot of people in the |
|
"I'm afraid NOT to believe" camp in religion and those people are horribly threatened by knowing atheists not only exist, but live rational, joyful and compassionate lives. They get so horribly defensive that it's really not worth an atheist's time and trouble to be "out" in any sort of compassionate endeavor. The most you'll get out of us is "Oh, I'm just not religious," if it's an endeavor we want to continue without wasting everybody's time on attacks and defense.
"No religious test" remains an elusive ideal.

6. Is this hosted by Christians? |

I missed the opening. If it is then the answer to your question would most likely be no.

9. Is there such a thing as an atheist candidate? |
|
I know atheists that have run for office, but won't dare state it in public.

10. How about a Pagan candidate? |
|
Or Moslem? Or Hindu? Or Pastafarian?
I'm sick of religious discrimination.
