Tonight's John Adams 4/13/2008 |
It never dawned on me till watching tonight's episode that the Whitehouse was built with slaves. I guess Obama really hit it on the head that this nation was founded with the "Sin of Slavery".

3. Read Edmund Morgan's American Slavery American Freedom |
He discusses this 'freedom paradox'. It's a classic work of US history.

6. I learned about slaves building the WH on DU sometime in the last |
7 years. Was I not paying attention before that? Did I not read the right books? Was I not taught that? It really bothers me. How many children are not taught that? Maybe they are now?
