We are becoming a 3rd world country |
|
Edited on Mon Apr-14-08 12:52 AM by Cali_Democrat
My neighborhood had 3 power outages today alone. We've had dozens in the last few years alone. I can't tell you many times I've had to reset my clocks and my sprinkler system. This is a pretty nice neighborhood also. I can only imagine how many others have experienced the same thing across this country.
Well look on the bright side, at least Bush is doing everything he can for the Iraqis so they get a nice power infrastructure. He's using our money to do so. I guess he doesn't mind if our domestic infrastructure is crumbling. Fuck him.

I will admit, we are by far, the richest, most developed Third World Country, but that has more to do with the freedoms and strong middle class that existed once in the Old American Republic. It has NOTHINg to do with the Imperial Amerika of today, a nation that has very little actual reference (other than the widnow-dressin meant to keep the peasants docile and still thinking we are free when we are nothing of the sort) to the republic that came before it as Nazi Germany had to the Weiumar Republic before the German Bushies took IT over in 1933.
We have a Third World Media, a Third World Voting System, a Third World Political System run on Dictator and Party Will, a Third World "justice" system and it all gets more obviously Thirdf World with each passing day.

Just read an article that said that the power grid is the next thing to go, due to lack of spending on infrastructure.

Remember the massive blackouts in Florida and NY? Those were huge-scale blackouts. This problem will only get worse if we continue to neglect it.

Bridges fall down, blackouts and rolling blackouts occur, we are becoming a nation of a minority of superrich and a massive underclass barely making ends meet, we are becoming less democratic, the voting infrastructure is better in Belarus or the Ukraine.
We are basically a 3rd world nation with money. We won't stop having money anytime soon. But our infrastructure and economic system is becoming 3rd world.

6. What defines a 3rd world country is exporting raw materials (oil, lumber, steel) |
|
and then buying back finished goods (gas, furniture, goods).
So...yeah, we've been that for awhile now!
The Iraqis used to have a nice power structure until we effed it up, so don't begrudge them that.
