Bush: "These are tough economic times"

http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2008/04/buish_tough_economic_times.html

These are tough economic times,'' President Bush said today, on the eve of Tax Day.

"Our fellow citizens will be paying taxes during a time of economic uncertainty,'' Bush said at a meeting of his Cabinet in the White House.

"This administration anticipated these times,'' Bush maintains -- noting that more than tax returns will be in the mail this year. The government also will disburse more than $100 billion in tax rebates to more than 130 million households.

"We worked with Congress to pass a pro-growth package that incensed businesses to invest; a pro-growth package that will be sending some of your taxpayers' money back to you,'' Bush said in a public statement at the meeting. "That's going to be an important part of making sure this economy begins to recover in a way that will add confidence and hope.''

8. Yep, our "strong economy" just needs to recover a bit. I guess this is *'s idea
of acknowledging reality.

4. Yes, unless you're Halliburton, Exxon or Blackwater.
THEN the only thing that is tough is a piece of inferior steak,
in which case you fire the chef on your private intercontinental
jet,and get one who knows how do up a piece of meat.

"The administration anticipated these times." Right! Bush only let
his ratings slip to 28% because he loves the challenge of trying
to bring them up to 65% in 9 months. Should be a snap.

5. What a tool.
As if borrowing all that cash from Dubai and China and mortgaging the futures of the next generation is going to do anything more than get more naive people further in the hole.

7. Because he's doing just fine
I'm sure whoever is managing his financial affairs has kept him well diversified and with sufficient cash reserves in offshore accounts.

It's not a crash for a GOP until it affects him, personally.

10. The same way Reagan did it
or the same way smirky assholes post articles about a wheelchair person making his way in the world by working to inspire handi capped people to follow his foot steps. Never mind the fact that when said person went away to college, found out he couldn't build the support team he needed so he went back home to where he had the support of family. Oh no, this guy in a wheelchair let nothing stand in his way. Yeah right try pointing out that when the guy tried to pull himself up by the boot straps he fell flat on his face, then your picking on the disabled. Smirky bastards anyhow.
