This cretin Berlusconi is back again.
Italy's conservative leader Silvio Berlusconi is set to win Italy's general election, according to projections from partial results.

Mr Berlusconi, a 71-year-old tycoon, is bidding for a third term in office. His main rival is centre-left leader Walter Veltroni, formerly mayor of Rome.

Projected results showed Mr Berlusconi's bloc ahead for both the lower house and the Senate.

The vote was held after the collapse of Romano Prodi's centre-left coalition.

2. Italian politics is complicated
The current leadership that ran basically on an anti-bush platform has been ineffectual at holding together its collation to actually do anything.

Italy has some serious problems, some of the worst economic growth in the EU, and crippling public corruption.

A corruption scandal helped bring down the current government.

Berlusconi is running as a reformer this time around whos going to fix whats broken.

Just being anti-bush isn't enough to win this time.

6. Italy changes governments like we change our socks
This is nothing new, they epitomize the term "unstable government". So thankfully, it isn't an indicator that there's a pro-Bush swing coming through Europe again.
