Grandpa McCain makes ANOTHER gaffe... (where was Whispering-Joe?)
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/04/15/army-times-catches-anothe_n_96694.html

Great! 8 years of a dim-bulb president who reads phonetically-written scripts off of TelePrompters and cue cards, now we're on our way to one who doesn't remember the difference between Sunnis & Shi'ites, the battles & Iraq & Afghanistan, and what he ate for breakfast.

Speaking Monday at the annual meeting of the Associated Press, McCain was asked whether he, if elected, would shift combat troops from Iraq to Afghanistan to intensify the search for al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden.

"I would not do that unless Gen. Petraeus said that he felt that the situation called for that," McCain said, referring to the top U.S. commander in Iraq.

Petraeus, however, made clear last week that he has nothing to do with the decision. Testifying last week before four congressional committees, including the Senate Armed Services Committee on which McCain is the ranking Republican, Petraeus said the decision about whether troops could be shifted from Iraq to Afghanistan was not his responsibility because his portfolio is limited to the multi-national force in Iraq.

Decisions about Afghanistan would be made by others, he said.

"I've been sort of focused on another task," Petraeus said when pressed about whether more troops should be diverted to Afghanistan rather than Iraq.

1. McCain is completely off-base on Iraq and the economy.
The two most important issues we face. Perfect.

5. Jee-ZUS! Petraeus has NOTHING to do with Afganistan!
We are caught in an endless loop.

The "president" will do what the General tells him to. . the General follows the orders of the "president"

McCain will only be replacing one cog in that dance of death with another...

6. Does McCain really know anything about "foreign policy"?
Everything I've read from him on the situation in Iraq or any other scenario in the Middle East reeks of ignorance and incompetence. Is his admirable military record serving as a cover for his cluelessness, and does the media have the gonads to call him out? Can either of our candidates, or more importantly our party call him out? The emperor has no clothes if you ask me.

7. I can't wait until we can start criticizing him on national television!
His "gaffes" and dismal foreign policy record aren't getting much attention at all because we're so busy fighting with each other. The press is devouring any news of Clinton-Obama spats and giving McCain a free ride.

8. Anyway
McCain is not smart, dumb, a hero, or much of anything. McCain is nothing more than a media creation.
He was created to serve the purpose of the corporations, the media and the military industrial complex. McCain could bite the head off of a kitten on live television, and the media would defend him every step of the way. Hillary, the media, and McCain are the flying monkeys sent out to destroy.
And they are all doing their job very well....
