http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5832390545689805144This is how democracy works right here and it was the intent of the original group of people who drew up our Constitution to be like the Venezuelans are, as is seen in this documentary to be. Its seems that early on in their quest for world dominance the bush regime tried using the coup route but found it to be not so easy. With this new found reality, to them anyway, they then felt they had no options but to take Saddam out by an invasion of Iraq. Like in Venezuela though they still didn't have a plan for an acceptable to the Iraqi people interim government and keeping the peace once they stormed the palace.
I guess it shows that the neocons have figured out that through the press they can control a mass of people as they have proved to be able to do so far here in America today. They tried that route in Venezuela against President Chavaz and apparently thought they were ready to close the circle and make their big move and take over but they were wrong. What they didn't see nor plan for was the love of their Country and Constitution that the Venezuela people have. The respect the Venezuelan people showed toward each other is inspirational to this old man to say the least. In the face of their Constitution having just been overthrown they were able to stand together on their Constitution and for the betterment of all of them rather than go on a destroy everything in sight slash and burn all for myself mission which things can be so easily devolved into under times such as this. The respect for their Constitution and for each other shown in this film is something that will endure the legacy of time. Yes, we could learn a lesson or two from this ourselves.
Now we fast forward to Iraq and after having just experienced the failure in Venezuela as they had, with the wounds still fresh, the bush cabal must have decided that trying to take Saddam out by a coup maybe wouldn't be such a good idea after all so they tried what they thought was their only other option, also they really felt they didn't have the time for poisoning the minds of the Iraqi people as a coup such as was tried in Venezuela would require. So plan b was put in place which as we all know was 'shock and awe' followed closely by the storming of the place. Trouble is that hasn't been working out so well for them either as the Iraqi people aren't going to simply lay down and let them kill, destroy, rule and loot and I can't say I blame them for that. In fact thinking about it looking through the eyes of an Iraqi, as well as an ole stump jumper such as myself can do. I see that it is the right thing for them to be doing against this invader, the US. This Documentary shows me how a democracy actually can work and how it is starting to look like a revolution here is to be necessary if we have any hope of surviving this coup we're living today and with our Constitution still intact.
All laws enacted since the new deal needs to be looked over very carefully for the machinery that allows this to have advanced this far, because it was during this time that this coup was began. Our Constitution tells us we have a responsibility to stand up to all who would take it down, domestic or otherwise. If we don't stop this madness we will loose our Democracy and once that is gone then it will only be time until there will be a war on our own soil, killing our families, destroying our infrastructure, in fact everything we have stood for all these years will be gone. I want better for the future of our country and our grand children. Is it time yet to take to the streets with pitchforks and torches
I realize most here knows all this already and my apologies for wasting your time. I just felt a strong desire to write these words after watching The Revolution that will not be televised
