MSNBC Coverage of Pope's arrival:
Extraordinary...Pat Buchanan should be elevated to Cardinal if not Saint for his effusive praise of the Pope and the "President"...Whorah's expressive ode to Americanism and the beauty of being in America where people of faith can combine work and play with religion so effortlessly...it only got worse...

2. The pope refused the dinner chimpy's throwing for him.
So, chimpy intercepted him at the airport, the only time he has greeted someone there.

3. Are the Mediawhores mentioning that he'll be a no-show tonight?
(Although I have heard that today is the pope's birthday, so maybe
he's got a bigger party to go to ... ?)

16. He was meeting with Bishops this evening. He sees the Monkey in the Oval tomorrow.
Probably reading the bishops the riot act--no more trouble from the US, you bums!! Get that cash cow to milking, again!!!

He's going to the WH for a fancy-shmancy ceremony and a 'sit-down' with Bush tomorrow morning:

http://www.wtopnews.com/?nid=116&sid=1385330

On Wednesday, there will be a formal welcoming ceremony on the South Lawn of the White House. Attendance estimates range from 9,000 to 12,000 guests.

"This probably will be the biggest number that we've had on the South Lawn," McBride said. "We had just over 7,000 for Queen Elizabeth II" in May 2007.

White House planners, who have been working on the event since about September, are anxious about getting the large crush of people through metal detectors and in position for the splashy ceremony at 10:30 a.m. EDT Wednesday. If there is a light rain, the ceremony will continue. If there's a downpour, the official delegations will be moved inside and the outdside event will be canceled.

Bush and the pontiff will make remarkds at the 30-minute ceremony, which will include the U.S. and Holy See anthems, a hymn by a vocalist, spiritual and patriotic music and the U.S. Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps. Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts have been invited to the South Lawn to show the spirit of America.

Afterwards, the president and the pope will meet in the Oval Office.

6. Will someone please explain to me
how you can have a dinner thrown in your honor, be in town, not go, and have the guy who's throwing the party keep your name on the invitation?

WTF? I mean, WTF?

13. It's a dinner in honor of the VISIT, not a dinner in honor of the Pope himself
It's a way to gather together all of the bozos who came in to say hey to old Ratzi...

14. I see, and thank you...
good thing the Rethugs can spin this their way. If the Prez were a Dem and this occurred it would be heralded as a legitimate protest against the traitorous Dem occupying the WH. Of ocurse, if a Dem were in the WH, the Pope would have shown up for something to eat.

15. I actually think they figured he might not show--that's a long enough flight.
I also don't think Pickles has had much chance to showcase the new White House chef she chose, and damned if she wasn't gonna have the chance. She's probably realizing that the clock is ticking, she's on the downhill slide, and if she wants to have a few of those big and fancy dinners, well, she'd best git crackin'!

If my opnion counts, I think this one is the worst in my 58 years. He has about as much compassion as BUSH.

7. Yes, I had to shut it off, too. And I am not anti-religious, or anti-Catholic.
But the papal worship went way off the beam. This guy is no John Paul II, and I didn't agree with him, either.

C'mon. I expect better of MSNBC.

The Holy See has a chair at the UN, too....
