Sad funny story about my experience at the change machine today. |
|
I was at work and I wanted a drink. The smallest bill I had on me was $10, so I fed it into the change machine.
When the change came out, I scooped it up and fed two $1 coins into the pop machine. One fell through to the coin return.
I fed it back in and it fell back through. So I looked at it. It was a Canadian Dollar.
"Damn that change machine", I thought..."It ripped me off"...
...until I realized that the "monopoly money" Canadian dollar of my youth was now worth more than a U.S. dollar. I made money on the deal. I knew that the Canadian dollar was now worth more than our dollar, but that was the first time it really hit me...

1. Too bad it wasn't dispensing euros. |
|
I am hanging on to a €5 note I got on a trip last year; it's already worth almost $1 more than when I got it.

I had a similar thought lately. I lived in Canada for a while and had some leftover cash. I turned in the bills at a bank years ago, but I still have some coins knocking around somewhere - I should find them!

5. I have been wondering if they are going to change over all of the book prices |
|
Every new book has separate prices for US and Canadian, Canadian always a few bucks more. Are they going to reverse the prices on the new books published?

7. It's not as bad as it sounds. Dollars aren't worth much any more. |

9. store recently wouldn't accept a canadian penny as part of payment |
|
said it was because it wasn't worth as much as usa penny. I just looked at the person in amazement and took the penny back.
