Expect lots of tax cut legislation between now and November...
I figured all this tax cut shit out finally.

Over on LBN there's a thread about the new foreclosure protection act that does a lot for everyone EXCEPT homeowners getting foreclosed on. It would be simplicity itself to write a bill that put at least a little bit of regulation on the out-of-control loanshark industry. At this point even the loansharks would like some regulation. There's none in this bill, and won't be any from this administration. (And it does NO good to put any into a bill, because Little Boots will veto it and it doesn't take much to sustain a veto.)

Tax cuts are Shrub's Somalia. You remember back in 1992, when Bill Clinton defeated Poppy Bush and Poppy left him Somalia, a mission he knew couldn't be done, as a little housewarming gift. I think Bush knows the Republicans will not retain the White House in 2008. He knows the Democratic majority in Congress will only get larger. And he knows he can't invade Iran because the Army would shoot him. Hence, tax cuts. Every tax cut passed since 2001 has to be repealed or allowed to sunset, and that's at the barest minimum. And each repealed tax cut can be sold to the American people by the GOP's Mighty Wurlitzer as a tax increase. Therefore, why not just pass all the tax cuts they possibly can? This Congress won't stand in his way; they haven't yet.

So that's the plan: eliminate as many taxes as possible, and stick the Democrats with the political carnage associated with cleaning them up.

5. When will Grover Norquist be small enough to drown in a bathtub?
I think I hate Grover Norquist's worthless father even worse than I hate Grover. You know how that scumbag taught Grover to hate taxes? He bought him an ice-cream cone, and as Grover ate it papa compared each bite to a tax.

Taxes aren't ice cream. I never met anyone who LIKED paying taxes--even us liberals, who are supposed to just LOVE taxes, hate paying the fucking things. 'Course, liberals are actually adults; we realize we all have to do things we don't like to do.

6. Ain't that the truth.
Didn't the Democrats have to threaten to filibuster Shrub's first tax cut to get anything for the non-rich put in it? And when they DID, it was that lame-ass $600 loan.
