MSM political commentary is overloaded with "prunedits" like George Will, Cokie, & ilk, |
|
Tim Russert, etc.etc.etc. So predictable, so unimaginative, so uninformative(or informed). It's just tales from the cocktail weenie circuit over and over.
Rachel Maddow has been a breath of cleansing and rejuvenating air.
If they (the prunedits) were a car, they would be Oldsmobile. If they were food, they would be Salisbury Steak. If they were technology, they would be Underwood. In short, their day has passed.
I'm not being ageist here. Bill Moyers? Fantastic! Phil Donohue? Great! John McLaughlin? Always interesting. I'm just saying I'm so tired of these same-old, same-olds, pushing the same lock-step Republican/Corporate agendas they have always pushed. You would never know that there was ANY issue with health care in this country if you listened to them.
Is it too much to ask to have some television commentary from people who act like they've paid a co-pay recently, or filled their gas tank or ever eaten at an Applebees?

1. The real irony is that the word "pundit" comes from a Sanskrit word meaning |
|
"wise man."
What's Sanskrit for "self-important bloviating asshat"?

3. When ever I hear or read something from them I think to myself that they are not talking to me. |
|
They are talking to the investor class, the wealthy power class and they support that class because they think that's what they are. The rest of us are here to support the investor class nothing more, none of our problems are worth the time to care about.

Most people don't need "commentary" from these silly pundits to know what they think. I can form an opinion without their explaining to me what it is that I should think. I avoid them like the plague. Easy to do since I never watch any of their swill anyway. I think the only people who really pay them any attention are the people who don't have computer access and rely on the t.v. for their "news."

7. Unfortunately that's LOTS of people. |

Sometimes I watch the local news just to find out what kind of news "regular" people see (or more likely DON'T see). No wonder things are so screwed up.
