Limbaugh: ‘Islamofascists’ are campaigning for Democrats
from ThinkProgress:

Limbaugh: ‘Islamofascists’ are campaigning for Democrats.»

Media Matters notes that yesterday, right wing radio talker Rush Limbaugh claimed that “liberalism is the greatest threat this country faces, not Islamofascism.” Limbaugh added that the “Islamofascists” are “campaigning” for Democrats this cycle:

If the liberals dominate and win, and are in power for four, eight years or more, they don’t take Islamofascism as a threat. And we know this because the Islamofascists are actually campaigning for the election of Democrats. Islamofascists from Ahmadinejad to al-Zawahiri, Oba — Osama bin Laden, whoever, are constantly issuing Democrat talking points.

Limbaugh’s rhetoric mirrors the conservative strategy around the 2006 elections. At the time, Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT), Dick Cheney, and the White House all suggested al Qaeda was hoping for a Democratic Congress.

Update: Echoing Limbaugh, on the conservative Hugh Hewitt radio show yesterday, the American Enterprise Institute's Michael Rubin said Iran "will do what they can to hurt John McCain ahead of the election."

1. Limbaugh is on his way out. The conservative movement is dying.

He wants to stir up the shit as much as he possibly can so that he can still appear relevant.

Ignore him and he'll go away.

I mean, I know he's not a fan of McCain, sooooooo is he a supporter of "Islamofascists" by his own logic?

7. Who wouldn't want John McCain
The guy can't tell the differnce between Sunni & Shi'ite.

Throw these things back at the voluntarily uninformed dittoheads if you can.

1. The Council on Global Terrorism gives Bush's policies a D+ in effectiveness at fighting terror. McCain wants to continue his policies.

http://councilonglobalterrorism.org/pdf/10Propositions.pdf

2. The 2005 national intelligence estimate found that the war in Iraq is making terrorism worse. We have taken our eye of the ball in Pakistan/Afghanistan, our military is on the brink, we have made millions of fence sitting muslims hate us and we have destroyed our alliances.

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/09/24/world/middleeast/24terror.html?pagewanted=print

3. We are secretly funding Sunnis who are linked to Al Qaeda in an effort to fend off Iran, which was due to Bush's war in the first place creating a power vacuum and the poor post war planning.

The rabid conservatives won't care but the more rational independents might. When people start finding out that McCain can't control his temper, is oblivious to basic facts about mideast culture or politics, wants to continue bush's policies (Which have been proven to fail by various anti-terror thinktanks) they may change their opinion of him. At least the independents might.

9. "Oba -- Osama bin Laden, whoever"
That's not the Oxy talking, folks. "Obama = Osama" is their new subliminable meme, right up there with the tom-toms beating every time you heard the name "Harold Ford" in that infamous radio ad.

Perhaps we could defuse this by referring to the 9/11 terrorist as Usama bin Laden, as the name is often transliterated in the UK press?
