So election fraud is a civil rights/minority issue? |
|
Greg Palast stated this today on Air America to Richard Belzer who guest hosted in Randi's former spot.
Palast claims that the legislature won't go near election fraud because the primary disenfranchisees are minorities and the legislature doesn't want to address minority issues.
How fucking sick is that?

1. I heard him say that, too! |
|
He said that the Congressional Black Caucus was the only congressional group that would address disenfranchisement and that by themselves they couldn't get anything done. There aren't enough votes in the CBC to get anything done.
So maybe DUers that have Congressman/Congresswomen that are white should be leaning on them to take an interest in voter's rights!

2. Seems like a simplification of a complex issue. |
|
Is there a transcript or a video?

4. It is the basis of a civil lawsuit in Ohio. I know the issue is important. |
|
I've not heard it characterized like in this thread though, not even by Palast.
The lawsuit is King Bronzeville .... The issue is also significant in Cleveland and Florida voter caging and purging, and other irregularities, correlated with minority neighborhoods. Joe Knapp reported on this here on DU in 2004, complete with scatterplot overlays on maps.
