those Mormon women on Larry King seem like they are from the old days |
|
from the way they dress, the hair, and especially the way they speak. there is something really wrong with these people.
i have seen the Amish speak in recent years and they don't even sound like that and they really do try to live a simple life.

1. Those poor women have been brainwashed, and you don't know the tactics used. They deserve sympathy. |

2. No, they seem like victims of life-long systemic abuse |
|
I belong to a small Christian denomination that has an "old order" segment, and those women don't sound a bit like the FLDS Stepford wives. I think there's something really bad going on in that compound, and if the authorities aren't careful, they'll walk into either Jonestown II or the Return of Ruby Ridge one of these days soon.

4. Have Any Of The Men From This Group Been Interviewed?....... |
|
I've seen the women a number of times in news clips and the like - but I've yet to see the men being interviewed. How do these families make a living and provide for all these wives and children?
I do have compassion for these women. After all - no matter what the age of the mother - there is still a bond between the mother and the child. To be separated from the children or have them taken away like they did - seems really wrong.
Couldn't they keep the mothers and chlidren together and just keep them separate from the men of this sect?
I'm watching this LK show now and they look like the Stepford Wives.

5. i think they don't want the mothers to tell the kids what to say |
|
to the authorities. i agree with keeping them apart for the moment and until they hear more, especially with seeing how brainwashed the women are.
i would be interested in seeing the guys speak also.

8. Immediately reunite them with their children |
|
Although I condemn this behavior because of their obvious "EXPLOITATION"... This is a most crucial time for these children.
Of course these women have been brainwashed. But the children are the most innocent among them. They had no say in the matter.
Give these children access to their mothers love!!
The Women and the Children are equally as endangered as are their muslim counterparts in the Middle East.

12. Then jail the men!!!!!! |
|
if we do that we had better be ready to help out these Women and Children.
But, since the Shrub and his Cohorts do not intend on helping out the people of the United States of America in it's time of need by even a single Penny(instead of their international corporate masters)...
fuck it...
put them in a KBR funded, BlackWater run facility....
Maybe we can find some "compassion" after January 2009.

14. At this point, who would doubt that most of those women would run right back to the compound |
|
They're in need of some serious psychological counseling for their own welfare (not to mention their childrens).

need serious counseling.
But these are American citizens who require our assistance.
The most important thing is to ensure these women and their children are safe and away from harm.
"Compassion" is exactly what the Republican administration and it's followers are lacking.

21. The senior wives enable some of the abuse |
|
so it is important to keep them from the younger women. In a polygamous relationship often the senior wife has a great deal of power, so it is unlikely that any of them will provide any information about the abuse. By sending the women with children over age 4 back they are weeding out the older wives and perhaps with these women out of the way some of they younger wives may come to the place where they will talk about the abuse they either suffered themselves or abuse they witnessed. This entire situation in this compound is built on intimidation of the young and unprotected.
