North Texans should brace themselves for what could be another evening of severe thunderstorms, possibly with damaging winds and hail, the National Weather Service said Thursday.

The weather service issued a severe thunderstorm watch this afternoon for North Texas counties, including Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton and Parker. The watch was to remain in effect until 10 p.m. The weather service said there was a chance of large hail and damaging winds.

A cold front sweeping into the region as early as 7 p.m. was expected to replace Thursday afternoon’s forecast of highs in the 70s, said Nick Hampshire, a weather service meteorologist.

2. Been gone nearly twenty years now.
Don't miss it a hell of a lot.

Got caught on the highway one night. The rain was so intense I lost control of my car. No brake or steering response at all. After a few seconds, I realized the problem was that I'd come to a stop in the middle of the highway and didn't realize it.

Tennis ball sized hail is the biggest I ever saw. Don't care to see grapefruit sized.

3. Sending positive thoughts your way
I've lived in earthquake country and tornado country in my lifetime....I was more afraid of the tornadoes.
