National Guard helicopter crashes in search for marijuana

A California National Guard helicopter on an anti-drug mission was forced to make a hard landing in the Sierra Nevada foothills Thursday. All three people aboard survived.

He ALWAYS flew stoned.

More WOD follies.

A grad student and I were harassed by a CAMP helo patrol several years ago when we were collecting soil samples in the woods during the fall harvest season. CAMP, for those unfamiliar with the term, is an acronym for Campaign Against Marijuana Planting, a California program that draws cops from all over the state to search and destroy missions against marijuana growers in norcal. The helocopters are especially obnoxious.

the chopper pilots didn't really want to fly over the coastal hills... they knew that some of their fellow Vietnam vets were up there growing... and that they were well armed and paranoid... the CAMP program has never worked, I think it a token effort so the Nat. Guard looks like it is "trying"
