2. It's a shock tactic

One I don't condone of.

I've slaughtered pigs. I didn't relish it. It wans't disgusting or inhumane and showing me someone being a cruel bastard to animals will never make me go vegetarian or vegan.

3. If you have Firefox ...

you can right-click on the image and block it. I did ... I couldn't take it anymore. :-(

On edit: ALL images from that particular ad server will be blocked, but you'll still be able to see the text in the ads. Hopefully, that ad will be gone soon and we can all unblock that server.

17. I stopped posting Wednesday because the photo got so distressing to me.

I do log in periodically to see if the ad is gone, and just now checked to see if there was any discussion. I know nothing can be done about it. Does anyone have any idea of the typical "run" time for an ad?

I don't want to "disappear" the ad because I have quite a few family and friends who look at my Journal, and I want to know what's appearing on my Journal page when they see it. Some of them have thanked me for taking a time out while the photo is up.

It's not that I'm unsympathetic with the cause, and I know there are good arguments for this kind of raising of awareness. But it's a personal thing for me -- I just couldn't post anymore, with the photo of, as you say, cruelty in my line of vision.
