The daughter of Raul Castro, sexologist and writer, “we still need an Italian Renaissance for Cuba”.
 
To be the daughter of Raul Castro and calmly say: “The Cuban ‘exit permit’ should be abolished, the hotels should not be reserved exclusively for tourists, we need to guarantee free access of everybody to electronic instruments…” Certainly, these have been ‘necessary prohibitions’, but as conditions make it possible they should be removed. “Disagreeents with my father?  I have had them since I was a child , in everything from the way to set the table to political issues.” But they have not been fundamental questions. “Today, he is my main ally”.
 
Mariela Castro Espin, the Lively Face of Cuban Socialism.   Fidel’s niece, second child of the present President, as a child she read Heidi, she recalls, “well, my mother gave me a book about Leonardo da Vinci which I liked very much”.   On the  other hand the biography of Garibaldi her father gave her stayed on the shelf; rather she used to watch Charlie Chaplain films with him.
