DId you Feel that? Just checking, because I think I just felt an Earthquake here in Georgia...
...and if it was another aftershock from Friday 5.2 in Southern Illinois/Indiana, that would be a very big one.

I was just waking up, so I'm not sure, but it felt like about a 3.5 Eastern U.S. quake.

It hasn't shown up yet at the USGS site yet, but here's the link for if it does:

4. How long does it usually take for them to post a new quake?
This happened about 11:45am EDT today, and I'm in Marietta, Georgia, so if it was, I bet it would be a 6.5 or 7.0 if it was a Illinois/Indiana quake, which could be deadly.

13. Almost intantaneously, it seems.
I got on the site minutes after yesterday's quake and they already had it pinpointed on the map.

If something that big had happened, it would have been breaking news by now.

6. It could be, but I remember a 4.0 Illinois quake I felt in St. Louis in the 80's...
...and at the time, we though it was I very big truck driving though our neighborhood.

12. I slept thru it, but other members of the family felt it.
According to the morning paper, it tumbled liquor bottles on the floor at an area liquor store and minor stuff like that, but no damage I've heard of.

10. Now I'm beginning to get worried, because someone from Western Tenn should have checked in by now...
...but if it was a quake, the power might be out. Are there any Nuclear Power plants over there that would have shut down in a big quake?

11. Go to one of the Memphis TV websites
Edited on Sat Apr-19-08 11:37 AM by notsodumbhillbilly
If anything was going on, they'd have it there. Not only that, but if there had been a quake comparable to the one that occurred yesterday morning, CNN, CNN Headline News, and MSNBC would be announcing it.

Also see http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsus/ (last updated at 12:29 pm EST).

14. CNN is doing it's 24/7 Pope coverage still and Fox "news" has some RW idiot from CapitalistPig.com
...(not kidding) on right now.

It hard to tell what's normal on these Memphis websites, so much junk all over them:
