Interesting Wes Clark Quote (from last year): |
|
Edited on Sat Apr-19-08 11:21 AM by AchtungToddler
(Wes Clark Jr., that is)
"Wes Clark Jr., son of the former presidential candidate, didn't hold back in a radio interview with the Young Turks.
According to the excerpts at the Raising Kaine blog, Clark Jr. said he "can't imagine" his father running for president again, because "Hillary Clinton has it 'f'in' locked up because of 'all the political favors she has to call in,' all the 'people she raised money for.' "

2. Not until after Sen. Obama is the nominee |
|
Gen. Clark has both the courage of his convictions and loyalty. As much as I would like to see him endorse Sen. Obama, he's given his word and endorsement to Sen. Clinton. And I can't see that changing until Sen. Clinton withdraws or loses the nomination.
That being said, I think he'll completely support Sen. Obama when he's the nominee, and I would not be surprised if Gen. Clark is on Sen. Obama's list of VP choices or Cabinet positions.

5. I was hoping more that maybe he'd work a little bit behind the scenes |

to encourage her to at least back down on the more destructive of her campaigning techniques.

8. Yeah, me too. But I sense |
|
....and this is only a guess on my part; that Clinton doesn't solicit or even welcome Clark's advice on anything but very specific foreign policy issues.

9. This was back when people still took internet fundraising for granted. |
|
The ability for candidates to get money from people with two minutes and four clicks of a mouse has changed forever how politicians will run campaigns from this point forward.
I remember in 2000 people were all amazed that Bush had raised $200 million, and how incredible that was. Obama's pulled that just for the primary. Hillary is only $50 million behind.
Wes Jr. is just guilty of pre-2004 thinkin'.
