If the economy is good, we need tax cuts for the rich to give people's money back to them. If the economy is bad, we need tax cuts for the rich to stimulate the economy.

If violence in Iraq goes up, we have to stay because the violence is up and we mustn't "fail". If violence in Iraq goes down, we have to stay because the violence is down and we're "succeeding".

These seem to be mcSame's main ideas: tax cuts for the rich no matter what and more war in Iraq no matter what. Aren't these the exact two things that bush came into office determined to do?

I like surrealism in art, but it sure is less appealing in a political discussion!

George was under the gun because he couldn't lob too many softballs after slandering Obama in the last debate. George also was under pressure to ask about substantive issues. The questions asked were relevant and most weren't that easy to answer. George did a great job of pointing out how McCain's budget promises are unbelievable. George let McCain get away by never mentioning all the things Hagee actually has said. McCain said he condemned Hagee's comments about Catholics. Stephanopoulus should have asked if Barrack Obama could make everything right by condemning remarks of the people he's associated with.

Then the round table started and it really went down hill. George Will repeated the lies that capital gains tax cuts raise revenues and Will even had the nerve to lie by saying Obama conceded that point. And after Stephanopoulus showed what a total bullshitter McCain was on his spending cuts, the panel gave glowing praise of McCain as a straight talker. Sam Donaldson said Obama supporters have a sense of entitlement and yell cheat whenever Obama loses. The early part of the panel was dedicated to attacking debate critics and making stupid excuses for the behavior of ABC at the debates. The whole thing was a pathetic display of how immoral journalists can be.

So even though George didn't do a terrible job on McCain, ABC deserves even more outrage and should be condemned by America even more.

The right wing talking point about Coburn is typical of the GOP. They twisted what Obama said. Obama didn't say Coburn was a terrorist. Obama just used Coburn as an example of somebody who he's friends with but doesn't agree with.

ABC is planning to do the same crimes as its done in past elections. They won't be able to do it without complaints this time.

I was likewise surprised that a supposedly objective journalist like Will would state the claim that capital gains tax cuts raise revenues as though it were a settled economic fact. In fact, most studies I've seen suggest that capital gains tax cuts LOSE revenues. Also, I agree that his statement that Obama conceded the point is false.
