2. lets wait to the day after the vote to say that
I do not think we can be sure of anything. One should re-call how we have voted so many years. White men are still running this country. OLD white men at that.

9. Which is why massive, nationwide election fraud will be required...
You don't really think they're going to just pack up and leave next year without installing a proper successor who can be relied upon to:

- protect and secure their fortunes from any law suits or other nonspecific threats

- issue executive orders or presidential directives that exempt all members of BushCo, past and present, from US prosecution for any charges whatsoever -- past, present or future -- for the rest of their lives.

- threaten military action against The Hague if they go after the Bushies

- maintain US non-extradition treaty status with Paraguay, just in case the Bushies need a convenient hiding place to escape the wrath of the world

- keep the wars going -- and start some new ones -- so the war profiteers' revenue streams aren't interrupted

- continue to privatize everything that isn't already under corporate control

- continue the transfer of whatever pathetic wealth remains in the hands of the lower 98 percent of Americans into the off-shore accounts of the top 2 percent of elites, corporados, BushCo cronies and whoever else actually runs the show.

That should take care of the foreseeable problems. They'll have 24/7/365 total security provided by Blackwater and paid for via our taxes. They'll probably have the use of any US military jets or transport planes should they need to evacuate somewhere quickly. Their Paraguayan property has a well built and beautifully maintained air strip capable of handling very large planes, so access to airports isn't an issue.

Of course, they may decide the climate in Paraguay is a little too hot and humid, or that the neighboring right wing paramilitary death squads just across the Bolivian border are a little too prone to switching sides for the right amount of money. Maybe the Eichmann kidnapping by Mossad, and his subsequent trial and execution in Israel for war crimes, seems a little too relevant. Maybe they just don't want to give up the throne quite yet.

In any case, if they decide to stick around, McCain will have to return to his day job as senator suck-up, shameless Bushie-hugger and desperate, demented old fool. But I'm sure his reward will be sufficient to keep him in Depends for life.

Meanwhile, Bushie and the rest of the assembled sociopaths who pretend to govern this country by some measurable human standard of decency, when all they've actually done is turn it into a gigantic free-theft zone for the well-connected...

meanwhile the same old gang will just void the 22nd Amendment, declare martial law, name Bushie intergalactic czar for life, install a few more electro-mechanical body parts in the Snarling Cyborg to help him emulate a living human for another year or so, bomb a few more oil-rich countries, put another few hundred billion in the bank, release to the press all the secret stuff they've been blackmailing democrats with for a decade (and being democrats, it'll probably be more like "wore brown shoes with black suit" than anything remotely interesting), kick a few handicapped kids on the Mall for entertainment and generally have the time of their lives running the world's largest outdoor madhouse and fascist theme park.

Now then, are you really sure that John McCain has lost the 2008 presidential race? Maybe he's just "playin' possum."

10. He's thick as a brick. He can't speak on his feet. He can barely STAND on
his feet. He sounds worn, fatigued, and is frequently uninformed and incoherent.

Kenneth Blackwell, former Sec. of State of Ohio, engineered and perpetrated voter fraud on a mass scale in the Buckeye State in 2004, but when he ran for Governor in 2006, could not pull it off owing to the size of the voters' impulse to reject his candidacy.

If Senator Obama is our nominee, I believe we are at the historical crest of a very strong blue wave that will realign both the political map and the attitudes which comprise it.

12. Seems qualified...
As you say: "He's thick as a brick. He can't speak on his feet. He can barely STAND on his feet. He sounds worn, fatigued, and is frequently uninformed and incoherent."

Anybody else come to mind with those very same characteristics? Some guy everybody wanted to have a beer with?

You think they've all stopped drinking beer, or admiring pathological idiots?

Hell no. They're just waiting for the next nitwit on the next stool to get started talking baseball and football and fishing and guns and, oooops ... There's another vote for the dumb guy with the giant melanoma patch.

If there aren't enough pure dumbshits around to put McCain over the top, the Bushies can and will steal any election they need to assure McCain's victory.

This isn't about continuing neocon dominance of US foreign policy, although that's a part of it. Nor is it about continuing the domestic fascist initiatives they've so carefully put in place, although what fascist worth his salt wouldn't want to be around to flip the switch and let 'er rip.

This is about preserving their personal freedom and possibly saving their lives from the executioner's rope.

They are international criminals and prime kidnapping targets for some enterprising group of leftist paramilitaries. They are hated anywhere that people haven't been poisoned by the endless lies and BushCo cover stories US mass media passes off as factual reporting on gullible Americans.

Because we're basically fools who believe the whole world runs according to the rule of law, and who apparently won't do the dirty work ourselves, we'll leave the job to the international community. Which is fine, though cowardly, since much of the world is far more experienced and effective at dealing with fascists than we are.

Either way, I don't see the Bushies leaving anything to chance. Not when the gallows is at least a 50/50 chance if they're caught and extradited to a country that abides by international law -- which is most of them, with a few notable exceptions, such as the one I'm currently sitting in.

How nice; what a pleasure; and please bring on a few more preemptive terrorist busts and a lot more domestic spying. For some reason, I just can't summon up the correct levels of dread and oppression today.

18. warren peace, you and I aren't fools. We aren't fools for two reasons.
We aren't going to fall for any Republican bullshit when we show up to vote in November.

And two, we both admire the San Francisco Giants. I'm a Giants fan since Juan Marichal days. That great high leg lift before delivering that flame-driven curve ball in Old Candlestick.

20. I'd say one for two on the delusional fool meter...
Yes, we're definitely immune from GOP bullshit for so many reasons I'd get carpal tunnel before I could type in a quarter of them.

On the other hand, we're doomed to follow a team whose record combines a lot of mediocrity with some stunningly awful seasons (this may be one of them) and brief runs of brilliance, only to die in Bobby Richardson's glove, play a distant also-ran to the As and the '89 quake, or watch Felix Rodriguez' ineptitude snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

My parents took me to see the Giants officially arrive in town in 1958. There was a motorcade up Market St. and there was Willie Mays and another 24 guys I had never heard of -- sitting up on the backs of the back seats of a long line of black Cadillac limos, waving to the crowd, looking much larger than life, me on my father's shoulders, eight years old and just a few feet away from real major league ballplayers. I've been hooked ever since.

Here in Portland, I get the Comcast out of town ballgame package so I can continue to follow them. Sick, I know, but at my age, I'm almost out of vices and I cling to this one tenaciously.

Anyway, yeah Candlestick and Marichal's leg kick. I actually saw him pitch a no-hitter in 1963 (I think). It was camera day and fans got to go on the field and take pictures of the ballplayers before BP and infield started. I got Marichal standing on the right field foul line, draped over Mays' left shoulder and grinning like he knew it was going to be a special day.

Great stuff, and I even made it down there in 2006, went to two games at the new park and saw Bonds put on into the bay. I suppose if I wanted to affiliate with a winner, I'd have been a Yankee fan for a couple of decades. But then I'd have to appreciate Steinbrenner, which is virtually impossible for sane people to accomplish.

So I'm OK with mediocrity, as long as they've got a real chance in the post season every now and then.

I really would like to see them win the series just once, though. If I make the average life span for US males, that means they need to assemble a killer team within the next 20 years. It's been 54 years since they beat Cleveland in the 1954 world series, so I'm not all that crazy about my chances. We'll see...

Oh, I almost forgot. May all republicans running for all offices this year lose by margins large enough that even the machines and the various filthy tricks to disenfranchise democratic voters won't be enough to steal a single election -- not even county coroner or the race for third alternate city council member. Dog catcher is much too important a post to trust to a republican, so none of that either.

Later,

11. Sinclair Broadcasting Will Create A Stolen Honor Type Movie
For either Obama or Clinton. Again, it does not have to be true. Stolen Honor was complete BS. However, remember the 2004 election, and how Sinclair Broadcasting refused to televise a nightline segment on American casualties and war dead while also televising Stolen Honor, which attacked John Kerry. Sinclar Broadcasting then refused Michael Moore's offer to televise Faranheit 9/11, then fired its Washington DC bureau cheif for criticizing Stolen Honor.

So, luckily for the mainsteam media, the Democrats are doing a pretty good job of undermining each other. However, once a nominee emerges, expect ABC and Fox News to begin the disinformation campaign. Perhaps they will have:

1. Obama - Is he really a Muslim?
2. Clinton - Who is Marc Rich and Frank Giustra?

Again, as Stolen Honor made clear, the mainstream media does not even need a true allegation. They can just make it up as they go along.
