7. Pricey?
Flour, rice and corn didn't used to be pricey. My husband and I have returned to the grocery list we used when we were first married and poor. We eat a lot of soup and I'm thinking of starting to bake bread again, now that the healthy kind is between $4 - $5/loaf. Pasta is high on the list and I'm trying to go vegitarian, although my husband never will.

4. I'm not disposing of stuff like I used to.
Got smoked pork neck bones and used them to make broth, saved meat for split-pea soup. Recycling before I have nothing left to use or save.

6. Only two choices - gas & food
So many other things have caused folks to re-arrange their life - health care, pills, food prices, education. Thanks to CNN to make it so simple.

8. How can gas prices cut into my food budget when my food budget has cut into
every other budget already?
My biggest expenses are

1. Rent
2. Food
3. Gas

I believe in April 1 and 2 are about tied and in May, food will be 1. If gas keeps going up, it could move into the 2.
