Cheney: withdrawing troops from Iraq would create the same outcome as Afghanistan prior to 9/11

<snip>

Cheney said that withdrawing troops would create a "massive setback."

"Those who can now say we can afford to turn our backs on Iraq are inviting the same kind of outcome that we saw in Afganistan (prior to the September 11th terrorist attacks)," said Cheney, "a period of chaos and recrimination, a violent power struggle won by a brutal minority, and safe haven for terrorists."

"The difference is now we're in the midst of a global war on terror," continued the vice president. "Failure in Iraq would have even further, more serious, and far-reaching consequences."

One obvious difference in the parallels is that the U.S. had never invaded Afghanistan like it did with Iraq.

1. Did you ever notice that Darth Cheney and his criminal cabal are responsible
for the sad state of affairs in Afghanistan? They refused to send the aide promised them if they would follow our CIA operative (OBL) and get rid of the Russians.

2. So, we're not following in the footsteps of the former USSR? When they
left Afghanistan, after nearly bankrupting their country, the Taliban took over. So far, we've invaded, occupied, and nearly bankrupted the USA. Why can we be smarter and leave Iraq and still prevent the total melt down into tribal wars?

5. Exactly.
Cheney is relying on the ignorance of the 19% that still think everything is going along swimmingly in both wars. They can't wait to dump these fiasco's on the next administration so they can blame them for the disastrous outcome of all their mismanagement & corruption.

6. Just like you turned your back on Katrina victims?
Like you turned your back on all those NYC victims when you lied about all the shit in the air. Dick Cheney lets fellow Americans die for his own political agenda. Fucking loser.
