Ms Rice wants to abolish the Second Amendment.
“The prime minister has laid down some ground rules which any functioning democratic state would insist upon, having to do with, you know, arms belonging to the state, not to -- not in private hands."

Condaleaza Rice

2. PhD in Political Science
Rice graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1970. In 1974, at age 19, Rice earned her BA in political science, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Denver. In 1975, she obtained her Master's Degree in political science from the University of Notre Dame. She first worked in the State Department in 1977, during the Carter administration, as an intern in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. In 1981, at the age of 26, she received her PhD in Political Science from the Graduate School of International Studies at Denver. Her dissertation along with some of her earliest publications, centered on military policy and politics in Czechoslovakia.<16>

6. She's pretty ignorant about history too.........
I think we need to make these folks computer literate or take away the kool-aid or send them back to school, or something.

8. And NO publishing history
which begs the question of why she's considered a great expert on anything but the now defunct USSR.

Seriously, any student of history knows that the greatest threat to the free ownership of firearms by the citizenry comes from the extreme right, not the left.

I guess the bigwigs at the NRA slept through the same classes Rice did.

14. She's never been published? I suppose that makes it easier
not to get pinned down to any particular position that could become inconvenient in an election. But to have spent all of that time in academia and never published? Geez. I guess she counts her pro-Iraq War op-ed from several years ago as being published.

15. She has been published, but it's an incredibly sparse
assortment from somebody who has gone onward and upward in her career by trading on her great expertise. Publishing in peer reviewed journals is generally considered one of the essential parts of this type of career path, one she has obviously skipped.

She's obviously gotten where she is by counting as two minorities in one, by being able to BS the right wing line, and by other processes not open to the rest of us mere mortals.

4. Hmmm. They give an office to the NRA in the white house,
but want other countries to ban guns for their citizens.

Color me confused.

13. This administration hasn't been very 2A friendly
Witness "no fly no buy", Bush's offer to renew the AWB, the BATFE being allowed to arbitrarily ban import of certain parts (the so-called "barrel ban"), and so on. The only good thing that even the NRA has said about Bush is that he hasn't (and likely won't) done anything abjectly horrible, such as sign HR1022 (which thankfully didn't pass House or Senate).

Bush and his administration have been no friend to 2nd Amendment supporters.

9. Here are the key words "any functioning democratic state"
Obviously it doesn't mean the USA, though this meme should be repeated repeatedly, over and over, etc,...

12. She and the rest of BushCo want to abolish the entire Constitution
And they've done a good job so far. Her remarks about what constitutes a "functioning democracy" are no surprise.
