Hope you still have a copy of yesterday's New York Times, or can get a copy of one. The article by David Barstow titled Behind TV Analysts, Pentagon’s Hidden Hand is a clip-n-save keeper.

Talk about Catapulting the Propaganda (as Raisin Brain did), it never stops with the Bush Crime Family. They're not satisfied with stacking the courts with neocon judges, or sending fake "happy news" stories to small TV stations touting the glories of Bush's so-called social programs, like "Leave No Child Behind," or buying so-called journalists like Armstrong Williams to sell these stories to their audience. No, that deliberate misinformation isn't doubleplus ungood enough for these Orwell wannabes. In their efforts to control the so-called Fourth Estate, they will stop at nothing, even when tens of thousands of lives are at stake. They have to gather a group of so-called military analysts and scatter them out to the TV networks like so many puffed-up spiders, spinning webs of glittering lies about the so-called war on terror, all tucked neatly behind their gleaming medals and important-looking TV fonts.

Shameful how this cabal has used and abused our military. This is a new low, even for these unconscionable vermin.

Barstow writes: "In the summer of 2005, the Bush administration confronted a fresh wave of criticism over Guantánamo Bay. The detention center had just been branded “the gulag of our times” by Amnesty International, there were new allegations of abuse from United Nations human rights experts and calls were mounting for its closure. The administration’s communications experts responded swiftly. Early one Friday morning, they put a group of retired military officers on one of the jets normally used by Vice President Dick Cheney and flew them to Cuba for a carefully orchestrated tour of Guantánamo."

It did make a person wonder where this sudden eruption of military experts sprang from so quickly after the twin abu Graib and GITMO scandals hit the front page. Rove's rabid minions scurried into action: "Let's roll." Barstow continues: "To the public, these men are members of a familiar fraternity, presented tens of thousands of times on television and radio as “military analysts” whose long service has equipped them to give authoritative and unfettered judgments about the most pressing issues of the post-Sept. 11 world. Hidden behind that appearance of objectivity, though, is a Pentagon information apparatus that has used those analysts in a campaign to generate favorable news coverage of the administration’s wartime performance, an examination by The New York Times has found."

It's a long article. Read it. Clip it. Save it. Show it to your grandchildren so that, with hope and fair elections, we never again allow our American leaders to uses this kind of disgusting propaganda against the American People.

Robert A. Kezelis writing for capitolhillblue.com summed it up nicely: "Gitmo and Abu Ghraib were no accidents, no inadvertent excesses. They were the official American policy from the very beginning under this administration. America is guilty of war crimes. Of Torture. Of deceit, war, occupation, and murder. America, that shining island of democracy, a beacon of hope for billions, an idea that others aspired to, has become the worst kind of superpower."
