1. Actually if the Cubs win the World Series, that may be
a stronger message. Then again that may mean that a asteroid will hit the Earth soon.

3. Those Tremors Are Being Felt More In Red States...
Indiana and Kentucky. I'm in Obamaland and I'm pissed...I haven't felt a thing here. Neither did my daughter who is 200 miles south of me and about 125 miles from the epicenter...and also in Obamaland.

I'm interested in what's developing here as the New Madrid is overdue for some kind of major event...and it won't be Chicago that feels it...but Memphis, Louisville, Cincinatti and St. Louis.

4. I thought the epicenter was in Illinois
I thought it was pretty amazing of all the places Illinois

WEST SALEM, Ill. - A 5.4-magnitude earthquake that appeared to rival the strongest recorded in the region rocked people up to 450 miles away early Friday, surprising residents unaccustomed to such a powerful Midwest temblor.

The quake just before 4:37 a.m. was centered six miles from West Salem, Ill., and 66 miles from Evansville, Ind. It was felt in such distant cities as Chicago, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, and Des Moines, Iowa, 450 miles northwest of the epicenter, but there were no early reports of injuries or significant damage.

"It shook our house where it woke me up," said David Behm of Philo, 10 miles south of Champaign. "Windows were rattling, and you could hear it. The house was shaking inches. For people in central Illinois, this is a big deal. It's not like California."

The question is, are they bitter about it?

14. It Is...Barely
It's in the far Southeastern corner of the state...more than 300 miles South of Chicago and near the banks of the Wabash River. The closest city of any population is Evansville, Indiana. My daughter lives near Champaign...out on a farm and said they didn't feel a thing...slept right through the first quake...not even the animals appeared to be disturbed. This isn't to dispute the power of the quake...the New Madrid fault is long overdue to let rip and the first quake was very close to the surface...fortunately it was in an area that is not very populated.

I'm so jealous!!!

Geology is my religion.

I'm not sure it has anything to do with the primaries, though. Sadly. :)

18. Hmm, now there's a thought
In 1833, a white bison was killed by the Cheyenne. The skin of this bison is hanging on the wall of Bent's Old Fort in Colorado. The Cheyenne killed this white bison during the Leonid Meteor Shower (The Night the Stars Fell) and scribed a peace and trade treaty on its skin. This event was documented by historian Josiah Gregg and other travelers on the Santa Fe Trail.
