Poll question: Do you support the wars in Iraq/Afghanistan
And by "support", I mean did you generally agree with the reasons for going to war and do you currently agree with the method in which those wars were/are being waged.

1. Supporting illegal, preventative wars.........
ain't my "thing," y'see.

Neither invasion and occupation should have happened, and neither had any foundation in reality.

3. My poll, my terminology.
:)

If "occupation" is more to your liking, please feel free to substitute that word on your own.

4. Afghanistan, yes. But it's turned into a mess.
Iraq, no. It was obvious to anyone with a brain that it was a payoff war to Bush and Dick's pals.

5. I'm with you.
Afghanistan has turned into a mess and I'm going to have the distinct pleasure of deploying to that country in a few months' time.

6. I hope that you get to make a difference for the better there
If Bush hadn't wasted all those resources on Iraq, we might have been able to make a difference for Afganistan a long time ago.

9. Sorry, I know nothing of any war in Iraq. I am aware of the invasion and occupation of
a sovereign nation called Iraq, however.

10. I still somewhat support going into Afghanistan...
Now we dont know for sure if OBL is alive or dead, we shouldn't have even bothered with Iraq. We should have caught Osama, but so much has been waisted on Iraq its probably not even worth searching for that bastard anymore. Thank you Bush, you have brought shame on this country

14. Afghanistan is a failed state.
The US funded and founded the Taliban...that was Carter, at the behest of Berezinski. The US funded and founded the Northern Alliance. Then, of course, the US funded and founded al Quaeda for 'wet work'.

The only thing the US and the UK are bombing in Afghanistan is civilians. There is no military, the infrastructure has been bombed back to the stone age, and more children die before their fifth birthday than virtually any other place in the world.

Can someone tell me, please, what the hell is 'just' about that???

12. I will never support war ever
I did once and it was a disaster like the ones in Iraq and Afghanistan are. War is an admission of a failure to communicate

13. there are no "wars"
Calling what is happening "wars" is promoting the administration's propaganda. We are not at "war."

17. I supported Afghanistan for the brief period after 9/11 when I was shell shocked.
After I regained my senses I was against it. I've always been against Iraq.

20. I oppose mass murder for economic gain and power in all cases.
You may call those invasions and the subsequent occupations "wars," but, as you unfortunately will learn, the people of both countries will regard the invaders simply as evil monsters. And they will be right. Not about you personally, your motives and beliefs don't matter in the least. But you will be serving an evil master. For those who ordered you into that poor land, to kill and be killed, you are just one more expendable pawn. For the other side, those who resist the invasions and occupations, taking out as many pawns as possible is one way they will fight the monster that they cannot reach directly, or even understand.

Good luck, stay safe, and do as little harm as possible, in your own self interest if for no other reason. In Vietnam some units reached their own tacit truces with the local resistance fighters. They chose the option of not killing and not getting killed in the service of imperialism and global domination. They served no evil, and did none. May you be so fortunate.
