Tony Snow cancels speech over illness

CHENEY, Wash -- Former White House spokesman Tony Snow canceled a series of speaking engagements at Eastern Washington University today because of illness.

Officials for the university did not revealthe extent of his illness, but said he did go to a hospital.

Snow was diagnosed with colon cancer several years ago, and he left his position as press secretary for President Bush in September to deal with the disease. He has said the cancer is in remission.

13. When he left the White House,

he indicated that he needed to make more money - kids headed for college, etc. I imagine that even with good insurance, his medical costs are quite steep. I believe he's trying to put his family in the best possible position that he can, while he can.

You don't have to like him, but he does seem to be trying to do what he can for his family.

politics is what makes snow a vip and everybody serving time for pot a prisoner. Politics decides everything in a person's life. Even those Horatio Alger selfmade man types who claim they built their wealth did so because there was a place and time when their abilities counted. If bill gates was black, he would never have been heard from; and most likely have been to jail.

He is a human being first, a husband, a father, a son. And he has bad cancer. Beyond that he is a Republican, Bush appointee, etc and if he is dying, those things are no longer relevant, at least to me. Anyway, we can disagree on this.
