I saw Governor Siegelman last night. He seemed in good spirits.

But he looks very frail. He is so thin. This ordeal has really taken a toll on him. He attended a talk given by Scott Horton at UAHuntville last night. He got a standing ovation, twice, and spoke a few words. You could tell he was moved by the support. What has been done to him is one of the blackest marks on US political history. Scott Horton said, last night, that Gov. Siegelman's persecution by the Bush Justice Department was without precedent in this country, but that it was one of a an array of illegal actions taken by this Justice Dept. It was a good talk, and one Republican shill reporter was on his way to getting his ass kicked until a good Democrat intervened - all in all a pretty interesting night...

1. Thanks for the report. I just finished watching
Abrams show from Monday night. He's pretty much the only corpomedia outlet giving this story the attention it deserves.

3. Dan Abrams is the M$M shill who told Gov. Siegelman "Keep it simple" and cut him off
when he started naming names of those involved.

Dan Abrams and Karl Rove may be playing us big time, to divert from the real issues in this case, election theft, illegal campaign contributions, Abramoff, Scanlan, Reed, et.al.

Coverage is not the same as revealing the truth. Coverage is NEEDED to obfuscate the truth too!!

6. I, too, have little trust in the motives of Abrams on this story. I hope Siegelman knows
that Dan's cousin is Elliot Abrams - longtime BFEE operative.

9. Abrams and Rove are doing a distraction dance. It takes two to be effective
and only one to write the script! Guess which one??

Rove: Look over here.

Abrams: Yes, here.

12. Thank you! I was appalled at the way Abrams treated Siegelman, after hyping the case night after
night, saying he will 'stay on the story.' Then, when he finally gets the man on his show, he doesn't let him
get a word in edgewise.

Infuriating!

15. The old 'limited hangout' tactic, imo.
They might also be using Abrams as an 'in' to see how MUCH Siegelman and his lawyers have on WH.

21. It's the Stolen Election!! A "limited hangout" is typically an admission
Edited on Thu Apr-24-08 09:03 AM by L. Coyote
of what is proven, albeit spun to give the appearance that everything is admitted.
I see less of that with the Bush Junta than ever before under democracy.
It is a limited hangout in the sense that the story is being respun into a new issue, Karl Rove's battle with Dan Abrams.
And when reported on, focused on anything except the felonies committed by the Rs.

This seems like the "magic show" tactic to me.
We are being directed to watch the wrong hand.

It is also a sure sign of the level of concern about the scandal.
They are going to great lengths to take over the story and control it.
This indicates the degree of concern about the focus shifting to Abramoff,
the illegal funding to Riley (et.al.?), and stealing the election in 2002.

Imagine the implications of the US public realizing a Governor's election was stolen!
Someone might look closer at Florida 2000 and Ohio 2004!! That would be the HUGE disaster KKKarl needs to avert.

We should reexamine the Bush League Justice series for the "limited hangout" scenario. Has that been the case all along?

13. Let's hope so. Siegelman looks so thin and frail - totally different from when he went in.
Damn them!

17. I wouldn't put it past BushInc to give him foodpoisoning. Ever hear about Christopher Drogoul?
Edited on Wed Apr-23-08 06:09 PM by blm
The so-called 'lone wolf' bank manager who BushInc wanted us to believe was solely responsible for authorizing over 5 billion dollars of OUR TAX DOLLARS to be funneled to Saddam Hussein in the years before the first Gulf War?

19. No one knows. He was a 35 yo bank manager in Atlanta whose defense called Kissinger to the stand
and Clinton's DOJ immediately gave him a deal he couldn't refuse to plead guilty and get a slap on the wrist so Kissinger wouldn't have to go under oath.

Drogoul died of 'natural causes' a few years into his sentence but no one really thinks he died, as the prison didn't inform any one of his 'deathg' until a week after it allegedly occurred.

20. Jeez, I have to look this up and read about it. Don't remember it but it sure sounds
like alarm bells should have gone off.

Another unexplained government-related death...

7. Diedre Brown and Alex Latifi were also at the talk last night.
Edited on Wed Apr-23-08 09:50 AM by Dhalgren
Both of these persons have been persecuted and wrong grievously by US Attorney Alice Martin, who, evidently, is a total "hit-woman" for the Bush WH.

The shill reporter was Eddie Curran. He was being a complete ass throughout the evening, but everyone pretty much put him in his place...

8. K and R
I sent him a card while he was in prison and wrote back saying he would NEVER stop until he got Justice.

Now I want to send him a high-calorie Turtle Cake! Yummy.

10. He could use it!
Who couldn't?

Governor Siegelman said very plainly that he was going to fight on until not just he, but all Americans who have been misused by this administration receive justice. That got a lot of applause...
