Ay, There's The Snub

FOR Barbra Streisand, snubbing President Bush might be more important than supporting Israel. The Brooklyn-born diva was expected in Jerusalem next month at the celebrations of Israel's 60th anniversary. Streisand was personally invited by Israeli President Shimon Peres to open a conference on the future of the Jewish people with more than 2,000 participants, including French President Nicolas Sarkozy and wife Carla Bruni, Steven Spielberg, Natalie Portman, Rupert Murdoch - and, most importantly, George W. Bush. Streisand was also scheduled to visit the town of Sderot to meet families whose houses were destroyed by rockets fired by Palestinians in the Gaza strip. But she recently told organizers she's not coming. "Sources in the president's office speculated that this is her way to protest the participation of President Bush," an Israeli source said. Streisand's publicist, Dick Gutman, denied Bush had anything to do with her cancellation: "However she feels about our current president, that would not have precluded her attendance," he told us. "And, besides, it's a three-day event, so simultaneous participation would have been easily avoided." Streisand has long been a strident critic of Bush, often bashing him on her Web site.

3. If Streisand were snubbing Bush, she would say so. She's not known for being shy.
There must be something else going on.

4. Rupert Murdoch? That's enough to make a reasonable person snub ...
let alone B*shit. I wish she had said B*shit's participation was her reason for not attending.
