My respect and admiration grows with each news story about Jimmy Carter.
And we must all recognize that what he's done, he's done as a private citizen. Indeed, being a former US president sets him apart from you and me (and rightly so), but he has only his own resources and those of The Carter Center.

My admiration grows yet again with his description of the Rice woman as an honest person who is mistaken .... diplocode for "fucking liar".

Thank you, Jimmy Carter, just for being Jimmy Carter.

10. All I could say when I heard about this was: how dare they criticize
He's had success making peace in the middle east. Everyone else has had nothing but PHAILURE. And yet they think they should comment on his methods?

Unbelievable.

7. I was never a big fan of Carter's ...
...until the 1990s. It was then I began to read his books. The guy is really an honest man. Think how much better this country would be had he won in 1980.

9. I have a theory about Jimmy Carter
His warnings about energy dependence 'way back in the 70s are going to be seen as highly prophetic for future generations.

And his current activities will only add to that.

11. AMEN..
the difference between Bush and Carter, Bush talks about clean energy while Carter did something about it!

too bad the Windfall-Profits Tax isn't in place today, otherwise we wouldn't still be debating this! :banghead:

14. Jimmy Carter and Martin Luther King, jr -- two Georgia native Nobel peace laureates
I don't know if there is another state that can boast such an accomplishment. They sure do make us proud.

15. It seems dichotomous, doesn't it .......
..... the state able to be infected by Ralph Reed, the state that turns a war hero into bin laden, the state that gives us Zell Miller, the state that would elect an empty suit like Lynn Westmorland ..... can produce two Nobel winners.

Back in Jimmys day he had to deal with some of the same assholes dealing behind the scenes just like bill clinton had to, the ones who are pulling the strings now. The bush/cheney cabal

17. when Carter was elected, he promised the American people that . . .
"I will never lie to you" . . . and he pretty much kept that promise . . . Bush, on the other hand, has never done anything BUT lie to the American people . . . what a contrast . . .
