Tony Snow admitted to Spokane, Washington hospital.
Don't know what's going on. He was in the state for a speaking engagement.
Local news just covered it in Seattle.

1. He went to the hospital yesterday, I believe, for "exhaustion"?
He had been scheduled to give several speeches, but became ill.

28. Going to the hospital for "exhaustion" is code for something
When you're exhausted you don't go to the hospital, you go to bed.

2. I don't think he'll last much longer. He's quite ill. He just doesn't want to stop until he must.
Kinda like Peter Jennings.

9. Even after you "beat" cancer the treatments you go through compromise your immune system
I'd imagine that's what this is.

21. He was hired as a "political contributor," nothing more.
CNN has a boatload of those of the payroll, as do other stations as well.

You pay them a set chunk, and if you use them enough, it's cheaper than appearance fees AND you don't have to sweat getting them to appear as much.

He's not locked into a set program, it's more like a loose confederacy.

They wouldn't hire a custodian if he was dying.

25. Sure, they would. Short term contract, and when he does kick the bucket,
those vultures have some GREAT footage of him doing his 'political contributing.' Makes the obituary more interesting, too.

They're not asking him to sweep the floor, just do a little Talking Head analysis every so often. Easy peasy.

Ron Reagan is a "political contributor." You see HIM quite infrequently. But they keep him on the string, because he's great on camera, and he's pretty cheerful, even when he's hauled in with almost no notice. He can "get the bubble" faster than most of the so-called pros, and he has a Q Factor that's off the charts with certain segments of the population.

Don't need to be over sympathetic, but no need to be mean about it.

4. Seattle Times:
SPOKANE — Former White House press secretary Tony Snow remains in a Spokane hospital with an undisclosed illness.

Snow went to the hospital after falling ill and canceling some appearances Tuesday at Eastern Washington University. Details about his illness have not been available.

Snow was diagnosed with colon cancer several years ago, and he left his position as press secretary for President Bush in September to deal with the disease. He has said the cancer is in remission.

14. I hope he's okay.
Everyone who speaks about him (including KO) seems to have good things to say. And even if he were the jackass that one might assume based on the political company he keeps, I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

I'll worry about Mr. Snow when people stop dying in the mess he helped to sell-- and continues to sell, whenever his robust healthcare plan gets him feeling well enough to do so.

30. My sentiments exactly.
The guy uses his talent to support the Bush administration. He guest-hosts for Rush Limbaugh for Chrissake.

He may be charming, talented, and personable, but I have no respect for him. Whatever it takes to keep him from doing further harm, I'm all for.
