Republicans stop bill for equal pay for women.
Edited on Wed Apr-23-08 10:58 PM by Eric J in MN
Please email your moderate friends that the Senate Republicans filibustered and stopped a bill for equal pay for women.

John McCain opposes the bill while Hillary Clinton and Obama support it.

More on the bill here.

The 5-4 Supreme Court case which led the House to-pass-this-bill and the Senate to-try-to is described at wikipedia.

The issue is whether a woman who is paid less based on gender discimination should have more than 180 days to sue.

Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton say yes while John McCain says no.

6. Yes you did - thank you
Leave it to DU to get all pissed off about something they had a chance to try to prevent but DID NOTHING about.

Most people here seem to care little about anything more than expressing their own outrage (outrage I tell you!) over the things that are "done to them".

Fuckin' useless wasted opportunities...

(Don't mind me, I'm just in a real foul mood - been teaching two guys who make more than me how to do my job for the last 6 months and they still. don't. get. it.)

7. Thanks. It's too bad the public didn't know that the Senate...
...was going to vote until the day before.

9. Well, at least you kicked the post
Not sure what your commentary has to do with anything but whatever. No one seems much interested in this topic anyway...
