David Welch, assistant secretary of state
for Near Eastern affairs, said this morning on NPR that his preferred method for negotiating with Hamas was for Hamas to read the paper. And that this, and listening to NPR, was the only way Hamas could find out what the US's positions are.
He was also backed into a corner about telling President Carter NOT to talk with Hamas and chose to "no commment", which said volumes.

I hate this administration and everyone in it.:puke:
