1. I just a few minutes ago had a contractor |

hanging a light in my dining room. He is coming back Monday to recaulk my bathroom shower. He is a home builder and is now doing this kind of work. He was just telling me he can't remember a time that was this horrible. He is convinced we are on the edge of a second depression.

2. I'm a painter (mostly) and we've had almost no work since November... |
|
Things are picking up a bit lately, (thank god) but last year at this time we had more work than we could handle just painting. We've had to expand our services to handy-man type stuff too just to get a little money coming in. :(
I think there's going to be a "Summer Bump" to the economy. People are stressed out and it's been a long winter. Spring fever will kick in and people will do some impulse spending. The underlying problems however will not be changed, and by late summer (Aug-Sept) all hopes for a 'Recovery' will come crashing back down to earth.
I will be taking full advantage of this little spurt of income, socking it away in the cookie jar for the Really bad times ahead. :fingerscrossedsmilie:
