2. They'll get it up to $4.00
so that they can bring it "down" to $3.50 just before the election in an attempt to dupe us into voting for the GOP.

So much other stuff that depends on energy will have inflated in price by then that I sincerely doubt it will do much good for them to drop gas prices this time.

5. There is a "small" upside to high gas prices for me......
The bud light beer drinker who cruises by my house every day has seemed to have slowed down/stopped. I have been getting tired of picking up his beer cans.

Fred Phelps's wacky church is busy making signs that say "High gas prices, God's punishment for America."

I can travel anywhere in the metro area for a $4 day ticket. I haven't driven in 5 years and that decision is still paying off... better than ever as a matter of fact.

15. $3.79 for regular here in the San Fernando Valley (west).
That's the el cheapo independent. Everybody else is 5-25c more. We will definitely hit $4.00 by Memorial Day.

It's lots easier to drive home at 6 PM now than it was for years. The kids who used to cruise around for the hell of it don't seem to be doing it as much. And the Hummers sure have disappeared.
