Tony Zirkle-seeking Repub. nomination Indiana 2nd-speaks to Nazis on Hitlers birthday (VIDEOS)
Edited on Thu Apr-24-08 11:52 AM by underpants

On Sunday, Tony Zirkle, a Republican candidate for Indiana’s 2nd District, took time out from saving the economy by shredding vintage Playboys (of course!) so he could attend a 119th birthday celebration for Adolf Hitler. He claims he was only there to talk about his experience as a state’s attorney in Indiana, his wacky theories about pornography, and to preach the gospel, so of course his being there had absolutely nothing to do with his segregation plan that would allow blacks to “have six states, so instead of having one half-black senator, well they would have 12.”

--------------
Zirkle told The News-Dispatch that he doesn’t “know enough about the group” to say whether he agrees with it’s ideology or not:

When asked if he was a Nazi or sympathized with Nazis or white supremacists, Zirkle replied he didn’t know enough about the group to either favor it or oppose it.

2008 is not the first time Zirkle has sought the 2nd district seat. In both 2004 and 2006, he challenged then-incumbent Chris Chocola. In 2006, Zirkle pulled in 30% of the Republican primary vote, despite calling for a return of the guillotine.

Since at least this past March, when Zirkle suggested that “the United States should debate segregating by race,” the local Republican Party has been trying to distance itself from Zirkle.” “The ‘R’ next to Tony Zirkle’s name does not stand for ‘Republican,’” said St. Joseph County Republican Chairman Chris Riley. “It stands for ‘repulsive.’

1. Well...
Wasn't it the beloved Hoosier state that elected members of the Klan?

What's amusing is this is from Northern Indiana...South Bend area...this is something I'd expect from downstate.

Palookaville, Indiana is no worse than South Boston or Bensonhurst, not that that reality is anything to be proud of.

2. Republican - repulsive, hey what's the diff?
Nazi's, loony hate mongering pseudo-Christian evangelicals, Dixiecrats, neo-cons, war profiteers, greedy corporate shekel-grubbers, toothless gun crazed hicks, pedophiles, they all fit under the big tent of the GOP.

4. The GOP welcomes fascists
With the right visual cues, even Bush**'s deeds make a lot more sense.

I couldn't watch the whole thing because I couldn't stop laughing at him standing in front of the Hitler picture.
