Will we ever know all the truth behind the GWB administration? |
|
Edited on Thu Apr-24-08 12:00 PM by old mark
Seems like the media is afraid to criticize Bush and his works ( I'm remembering the Bill Clinton Era-new "scandal" every week) and his stooges and cronies. Will this Crap ever be revealed for public consumption? or are the media so controlled/intimidated that we will never get a glimpse of the extent of the damage done to the US by this psychopath?

1. If "they" put a hold on the official papers, it could take YEARS. |

But, somehow, in my stupid little mind I pray we will eventually get to the bottom of this administration. I am more amazed at what this admin has gotten away with in these 7 1/2 years, than I could ever explain to you. Truth, justice and the American way?? Are they just words that I long ago associated with this country? Time will tell.

acts. Pigs will fly first though before the whimpy Congress or any other body of law tackles this.

...we tear this farce of a government down with our own hands and uncover the truth ourselves.
I'm sure it's documented. They're very proud of their achievements.

6. Presumably a Democratic administration could change whatever |

rules they have in place now that are blocking the release of documents. They could also put in place an FBI director and a Justice Department that is willing and able to prosecute these bastards. And if need be they could impeach Supreme Court Justices and replace them if they ignore evidence and overturn convictions.

Most of what we know, we've pieced together ourselves based on leaks and Bushco's perchant for speaking the blunt truth occasionally.
That's not much different than things that are known about MK Ultra, Operation Paperclip and various other "tinfoil" things that just happen to have been documented...just not in their deepest, darkest entirety.
Just remember that what we are allowed to see is always just the tip of the iceberg.

I suspect they've destroyed too much evidence. And I think that the only place where the truth is going to come out is in research by non-American historians after the fall of our empire. There will be a slew of non-American history dissertations picking apart the failure of the great American experiment. The media will never let it out because they would have to admit their culpability. The Democrats won't truly investigate for the same reason. We MIGHT get a bragging manifesto from one of the pigs in the administration once they are retired in some country that does not extradite (or made public after their death) but I don't even expect that.

...we will never see most of it. I just read a book detailing killing of over 300 unarmed civilians back in the 1960's in Vietnam, sanctioned and brought about by the LT COL commanding a US Army battalion. Gov't has had all the info since the '70's, and covered it up. It was finally completely buried by Rumsfeld. Book is "Tiger Force", by Sallah and Weiss.

11. I Want Just Enough For Prosecutions |

We're still getting stuff from Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon...decades afterthefact. I'm certain a lot of the dirt that went on with this regime will only come out as deathbed confessions and tell-alls when the statue of limitations of this regime's destructions and crimes have passed.
All I care is that once this regime is removed, investigation into criminality are able to procede and the worst of the crimes brought forth and those responsible are held accountable. No pardons, no excuses. A Democratic House and Senate (60 seats or better) will ensure we get some restitution. Then I hope the UN and the World Court go after all the war crimes and criminals.
