"The United States is selling the furniture to pay the mortgage"
So said United Steel Workers President Leo W. Gerard in a wide ranging discussion on the Shultz show earlier this afternoon.

A more apt description is hard to imagine as China and India become the latest international players to buy some of our infrastructure and our industrial base.

1. infuriating and tragic
And so unnecessary, were it not for the profiteers who love money more than democracy.

3. The unions are so beleagured right now ..... USW went from 600,000 members to the current 120,000
That's frightening. These and similar union jobs were the bedrock of our society, the salt of our earth, and the backbone of our middle class.

------------------

But profiteers have always been profiteers. The American people have allowed this to happen by constantly voting for:

Lower Taxes
Xenophobia
Religion
Hate
Trickle Down Bullshit

Change starts with us. We've allowed them to convince us that their cause is our cause.

5. wow, I guess you are right
It is our own wish for cheap goods and foods that has driven the profiteering. I'm ashamed. We are all profiteers even in our much smaller circumstances.
