McCain Aide: North Carolina Anti-Obama Ad to Be Pulled
Top strategist Charlie Black tells TIME’s Michael Scherer the controversial ad linking Obama, Rev. Wright and two North Carolina Democrats will not air.

“The ad has been pulled. I don’t think it ever ran, except on the web.”

Earlier: State party chair Linda Daves defends the commercial, set to launch next week.

“A state party chairman has the duty and the role to also look out for our downballot, our statewide races,” she tells MSNBC.

Ad re-airs footage of Rev. Wright, and denounces two gubernatorial candidates for endorsing the Illinois Senator.

McCain has personally called for the party not to run the ad.

DNC Chair Dean issues statement Thursday pressing McCain to do more to stop the ad.

12. Good for you and you are entitled to your opinion... But I won't be voting if Clinton somehow...
steals this from Obama... Have a nice day.

PS:

I don't recall anywhere in my post where I said that McCain was better than Clinton.

7. More respect for McCain? I call bullshit.
He can deny the ad, but they threw the mud already. It makes McDubya a hypocrite in my book. He can deny the ad while gaining from it.

9. Neither you or I will ever know what McCain's roll was in this, but one thing we do know...
your candidate was nowhere to be found in putting this ad to rest... So if I were you I would STFU.

Edited to add: Can't believe people on DU tell people on DU to STFU. Instead of whipping yourself into a fury over supposed slights to your candidate, why don't you go outside and take a walk. Its a nice day outside.

5. Too late - it's been splashed all over the news
That may have been the plan all along. Remember the attack ad flap from "The West Wing"?

16. Well, now the NC GOP is saying they are going to run it - just forget what McCain's
people said about getting it pulled. Pathetic.
