Don't like Rush calling for riots at the DNC in Denver?
Inciting a riot is a federal crime, and likely violates FCC regulations.

You know what to do...

3. I think we should petition a judge in Fla.
to commit Rush due to his brain damage from prolonged abuse of illicit prescription drugs. This condition has rendered his brain unusable and makes him a danger to society. Wouldn't that be a hoot!

14. Damn That Freedom Of Speech Thing...
Here's where the rubber hits the road. Rushbo can say virtually anything he wants to on the "public airwaves". He can insult, lie, demean...even incite a riot, but he dare not show a tittie! His "right" to call for public uprising is exactly that...but if people show up and carry it out...then we've crossed from words to action. To give this gasbag any more credibility is to play right into his web...giving him the publicity and allow him to be a distraction from what's really at stake and going on here.

The greatest punishment for Rushbo is a tremendous GOOP loss in November that repudiates his entire wingnut agenda and party. The worst thing a publicity whore hates is being ingored.

The SCOTUS was very clear on this. Incitement to violence is not protected at all.

44. After The Fact
IF people do show up...IF there is a riot...then, yes, you can prove an incitement to riot. They didn't arrest the Chicago 8 before they came to town, even though the Chicago Police expected trouble...they had to wait until action took place.

38. He has a right to call for an actual riot?
That seems to me about the same as calling for an actual killing, or some such. But I'm not a Constitutional scholar, although I'd *like* to be one, if I got time to do the studying. Amazing how much interpretation is attached to a document you can carry in your purse.

43. Words Vs. Actions...
We weren't calling for someone's execution...but that's been called for on hate radio...or storming the New York Times or harassing an ill 14-year old kid...the vitriol on the AM band holds no limits nor has had been held accountable. Yes, damn the freedom of speech provisions. Now...if those words do turn to actions and those actions lead to breaking the law, then there could be a case for going after the hate spewers...but try to prove it. It's easier said than done.

Plus, as usual...when put to the wall, Rushbo will say he's "just kidding"...that he's an "entertainer"...and what he said was for entertainment purposes only.

33. Here's what I did.
When you click on the link in the OP, click on General Complaints. Then click on "Form 2000" to file a general complaint online. On the next web page, click on the radio button labeled "Form 2000E - Media (General) Complaint" to bring up the rest of the form. Then click NEXT to get to the form itself.

The top of the form is basic personal information - name, address, contact information. Under "What is the name of the company that is the subject of your complaint?", put in Premiere Radio Networks - that's the company that hosts the Rush Limbaugh show. Skip down to 4., which is where you put in complaints about a specific program. Again, the network is Premiere Radio Networks, the show is The Rush Limbaugh Show, the date is 4/24/2008, the time is 12:00 Eastern time (that's when it's live, though many stations have his show on tape delay, so don't sweat the time too much.

Then on the bottom, date and time again, 4/24/2008, 12:00pm, then a few sentences of your choice explaining that Rush Limbaugh asked his listeners to incite a riot at the Democratic National Convention in Denver in August, please have him hung, drawn and quartered and post his head on a pike in front of FCC headquarters as a warning to the next ten generations. (If Rush can dream, so can I.)

37. An excellent Post and an even more excellent suggestion.
Unfortunately, it's pretty obvious by now that Rush is above the law, and he wouldn't be punished if he murdered an infant on live TV.

But still, just because we have rigged elections, it does not mean I will not still cast my vote in November.

And it still doesn't mean I am not going to file a complaint against this worthless Nazi wannabe.

A living, breathing argument for the return of Frontier Justice if there ever was one.

I can't wait to see the press coverage of that "riot"! (I sure wish I still had that photo of that Freek Republic "protest rally" in DC, a few years back. They had rented 4 Porta-Potties for their "crowd" of less than a dozen!)

But turn that drug-crazed freak in to the FCC anyhow. He's far more dangerous to the American public, than Janet Jackson's flaccid breast!

I filed my complaint. As a Denver-area peace activist, I find this particularly disturbing because 1) I love this city and don't wish any harm to come to it, and 2) you know no matter who started a riot, peaceful activists on the left would get hurt and blamed. :grr:
